We founded Kitup in 2019 with a clear and ambitious vision: to build the largest book summary and productivity platform in the MENA region. At a time when access to high quality, time efficient learning was becoming increasingly important, we believed that knowledge should be easier to consume, more accessible, and seamlessly fit into everyday life.
Understanding the need
Modern life leaves little room for long reading sessions, yet the desire for personal growth has never been stronger. Many people want to learn from influential non fiction books but struggle to find the time. Kitup was created to bridge that gap by transforming powerful ideas into formats that respect people’s time without sacrificing depth or value.
Our approach
Kitup condenses the most important insights from hundreds of world changing non fiction books into clear, structured summaries that can be read or listened to in just 15 minutes. By offering both text and audio formats, the platform adapts to different lifestyles, whether users are commuting, exercising, or taking a short break in their day.
The product was designed with simplicity and focus in mind. Every summary highlights core ideas, practical takeaways, and actionable insights, allowing users to apply what they learn immediately. This approach helped Kitup grow rapidly and resonate with a broad audience across the region.
Growth and evolution
Over time, Kitup became one of the largest apps in the MENA region, reaching 10 million members and establishing itself as a trusted source for learning and productivity. As the platform matured, it evolved into an independent company, a milestone that reflected both its scale and its strong product foundation.
In 2024, we exited the studio with a portion of our shares in Kitup, marking a successful chapter in our journey while the platform continued forward on its own path.
