Delivering social value and impact without silos
We began our journey with Goodsted in 2020 as the founding technology team, driven by a shared belief: that meaningful social impact needs strong, thoughtfully designed technology behind it. Based in the UK, Goodsted was created to empower organisations, teams, and individuals to take action in their communities, and we continue this journey with a clear vision of becoming the region’s largest and most influential stakeholder in social impact technology.
Understanding the mission
Community action is powerful, but managing it at scale is complex. Organisations often rely on disconnected tools to run volunteering programmes, track participation, and report impact. This fragmentation creates friction, limits visibility, and makes it harder to understand what is truly working. From the start, we saw the need for a single, unified platform that could bring everything together while remaining flexible enough to fit each organisation’s unique structure.
Our approach
Goodsted was built as a personalised workspace designed to power community action. Every organisation can shape the platform around its own programmes, teams, locations, and causes. Features are enabled only when needed, access is fully controlled, and the experience is tailored from day one to reflect how each organisation actually works.
All activity lives in one place. Organisations can publish and manage volunteering opportunities, whether general or skills based, handle sponsorship requests, promote learning offers, and create initiative pages for long running programmes. Critical requirements such as accessibility needs or DBS checks are captured within the same system, creating clarity and consistency across all activities.
Designed for participation and insight
Ease of use is central to Goodsted. People can apply to opportunities in seconds, while leads retain full control over activity management. Hours are tracked automatically for fixed events, with simple logging for flexible contributions. Outputs and outcomes are recorded separately, ensuring organisations can accurately evidence both effort and impact.
Real time reporting transforms data into insight. Participation and hours can be viewed over time, engagement can be analysed by member, team, or department, and the most supported causes are clearly surfaced. This allows organisations to understand performance, refine their programmes, and invest in what delivers the greatest impact.
